Born in the Black Forest, she grew up with the distillation of fine fruit brandies.
In 2014, she was awarded by the Federal Republic of Germany for her concept for craft company concept in developing countries. She went to Rwanda in East Africa to implement her concept there. Rwanda, also known as the “land of 1000 Hills”, is rich in top quality fruits – pineapple, mango, tamarillo and passion fruit. In Kigali, the capital, she founded the country’s first distillery. She specializes in exotic fruit brandies.
Katrin Stelzer uses only local raw materials for her eau-de-vie. By buying agricultural products from local farmers, they are supported. The employees of the distillery are exclusively Rwandans. They are trained and trained in the distillery.
